Today I am chatting to the lovely Margarita, my friend and fabulous stylist in London and the south east .
Margarita, How do you describe your personal style?
I would define my style as classic with a twist. I love wearing a blazer but I like to mix it up. For example, by wearing it with a bright coloured shirt and nice jeans. I also love wearing suits, I feel empowered and feminine when wearing them. Another item that I cannot exclude is a pair of statement earrings, I think that they elevate any casual outfit.
What are you planning on wearing over the festive season?
This Christmas is going to be a special one. I have all of my family coming from Barcelona for the first time in over 18 years. The plan is to stay at home and eat as much as we can! So, I will wear something casual but put together. I was thinking of sequin and slip skirts with nice jumpers.
But before that, I have a few parties and I am planning on bringing out my silver sequin suit and my pink heels. I will definitely be wearing lots of jewellery and bright lipstick. These are my go-to choices when I want to spice up my outfits.
Do you prefer dressing up or down?
I love both options. I love making a casual outfit interesting by mixing prints or adding bright colour combinations. But I do love dressing up when I have an event or a party. I don’t tend to keep my clothes for best but I love wearing my favourite shoes and accessories when I go out - out.
What are the key trends that you have spotted?
I think this A/W 24 trends are quite classic. I do love burgundy and I recently bought a new burgundy bag. Personally, I find leopard print is a classic and a neutral, so I am very happy that I can wear my old leopard print scarf and feel trendy! I think my favourite trend this season is suede. I have a few suede handbags and pair of shoes that go with everything.
What are your clients loving?
The most wanted items have been jumpers and coats, which is no surprise after the weather has suddenly changed. A good coat is a must have as we wear them for half of the year. I recommend getting a classic tailored cut, perhaps single breasted and long if possible- you will keep it for years to come.
Fave shops for festive dressing?
Albaray has a great selection of festive pieces at the moment, very classic and feminine. I love fwp by Rae. She has the best Christmasy sweat shirts that are so much fun to wear with sequins.
Some high street brands like marks and spencer are selling really lovely pieces at the moment. Loving the sequin jackets with bows. Boden is great too for colour and patterned items particularly.
Favourite accessories from Scott Samuel?
It would have to be your sparkly socks; I wear them all of the time. I also love the new woven leather basket in dark brown. Its absolutely stunning. But, if I have to choose one item for Christmas, it would be your crystal handbag in black, I love it!
