Festival Chat with Zoe de Pass

Festival Chat with Zoe de Pass

If you follow Zoe de Pass aka @dresslikeamum you’ll know she is partial to a festival or two!!. As it’s nearly that time of year… we chatted all things festival!!

How would you describe your festival style?
I'd say my festival style is fun, colourful and a little bit mad. I like to mix unexpected pieces and combinations together and festivals are the perfect places to do that.
Do you go for old favourites year after year or like to have something different each time?
I always take my old favourites which include a tassel denim jacket, sequin trousers, leggings, a pink metallic leather bum bag and a vintage Nike T-shirt that has been embellished with diamante (sounds crazy but it's so cool). This year I have bought myself some Disco Pants from Vinted to add to the mix too. I'm going to style to the pieces I have into new outfit combinations.

What’s your favourite festival pieces and where are they from?
Some of my favourite pieces include my rainbow leather jacket from Sarah Bailey (which she sadly no longer makes), a vintage t-shirt covered in sparkly studs, my metallic pink leather bum bag, a bright yellow crochet dress, my silver sequin trousers - I have so many!! I love Rosa Bloom who makes the best sequin jumpsuits known to man and Burnt Soul for catsuits and lycra.
Best tip for someone planning their festival outfit / wardrobe?
Leggings are great - you are likely to be sitting on the floor quite a bit as are layers. It can be quite chilly at night so take a cardigan and warm jacket. Shoes wise I usually take my super comfortable old Dr Marten  sandals, boots, sliders for the showers and weather dependent wellies.
Above anything else you must be comfortable but also come as your best self - don't overthink it, if you like it wear it - there is no time for judgment at festivals.

How do you plan without knowing what the  weather will bring?  Or do you just go for it regardless?
I check the weather constantly! But sometimes the evenings can be cold so I alway take a tracksuit to sleep in and layers for the evenings as well as a big raincoat or poncho and wellies - because if you take them it's less likely to rain.

What’s your fave festival? Where else are you heading this year?
I think Glastonbury is my favourite - it's full of good energy, incredible music and people having fun. It's wild and wonderful and so full of fun and madness - plus the organisation and attention to detail always blows my mind .
But we've just come back from a small secret one in Cornwall which I love.

With kids or without?
We take our kids to Camp Bestival which they LOVE and to the smaller family friendly ones. My youngest went to his 1st festival at 3 months old so they have grown up going to them.

Any festival faux pas?
I'd say a bad attitude is the worst thing you can have at a festival.

I’d love to hear your fave Scott-Samuel pieces for a festival?
The Leather Bumbags and Cross-body bags are perfect for a festival.
