Get your Glam on! Keira's guide to festive dressing...

Get your Glam on!  This is my guide to festive dressing... I love dressing up but I also love comfort and a lot of my favourite festive outfits are things that are easy to wear and comfortable. I also already have velvet, sequins and various other dressy things in my wardrobe so I am all about making e pieces work with a few new tweaks or styling them in a different way.

Christmas Night Out - so the Christmas Night out is the one where you get to go ALL out!! Go big or go home!  If you're lucky enough you may have several of these in your social calendar.  Or maybe these aren't your thing and the idea of having to get dressed up to the nines (sequins or not, as I know not everyone is a fan), fills you with dread.  A new sparkly bag breathes life into an old favourite outfit. I love the Crystal bag for this and also the sequin bags are pretty fab too. The Silver Leather Woven bag or Gold Leather Woven bag also make great bags for a Christmas night out and well beyond. The removable cross body strap on those means they are really verstaile. I recently used mine at a wedding, carried it as a clutch and then switched to cross body when I hit the dancefloor!

Sequin capes - I love a sequin cape over bare shoulders but they look equally fab over long sleeves if you are wearing something long sleeved (or a blazer). Choose from Gold, Silver, Cream, Burgundy or turquoise.

Christmas Shopping or Christmas Market - the tartan lambswool stole or wrap looks great over a wool coat as does the maze print scarf. Or what about the cashmere mix fairisle snood and wrist warmers? Bag wise you can’t go wrong with the leather bumbag for ease when shopping but if you want something a bit smarter the geometric leather bag is a good one. The fringed leather bag is another good choice. It’s a good sized bag for all the essentials and a bit more. I always like a second bag for my extra stuff whether it’s the striped knitted shopper or the bamboo handled hessian tote.

Drinks at a friends - I do like to dress up over Christmas even if we’re at friends. Velvet trousers are a great way to dress up without feeling overdressed. You can wear them with a jumper and a nice brooch. Add some sparkly socks and a metallic bag or a sequin cape over a roll neck jumper. Or take a sparkly Crystal bag to dress up your outfit and arrive in style.

Christmas Day - I do dress up on Christmas day but always like to be comfy. Again a sparkly cape or poncho that you can easily add after you have done the cooking if you are on Christmas dinner duty is perfect. Or what about a tulle collar or a pearl and crystal hairband.. Another easy way to dress up is adding these statement Crystal earrings. I love these paired with knitwear and velvet.

The Tartan bow brooch can be added to knitwear or a wool coat. The oversized pearl and heart choker is another easy way to dress up a simple outfit. There is also this heart necklace which looks fab with velvet and sequins.

Christmas Walk - At some point over Christmas we always head out for a walk. The tartan scarves and stoles are perfect if you want to feel dressed up. I love a beret for keeping cosy but not spoiling your hair.
