Influencer Spotlight Isabelle aka @BelleSoChic

Today I chat with Isabelle or @BelleSoChic about her style and all things Instagram. Belle always looks effortlessly put together and very polished. She also looks fabulous in white! 🤍
How would you describe your style?
Chic with an edge? I love the clean girl look, but also enjoy a bit of maximalism.
How long have you been on Instagram? Tell me a bit about your journey and what you share?
Two and a bit years. My mum actually told me I should start a style account. I came out of hospital after over a year just at the start of the first lockdown, so all my follow-up appointments and groups were cancelled. My mum said I needed a project and she was right!
What is your favourite independent brand and why?
I can’t pick one! I have loved Scott Samuel since I first came across them over a year ago. Keira has a great eye and her leather handbags are always a little bit different and excellent quality. Other favourite independent brands include: Nearly New Cashmere - democratising access to cashmere! Novo London - beautifully designed timeless basics.
What is your favourite season to dress for?
Probably summer. I love cashmere and boots and coats, so I do like styling for autumn, but nothing can beat being able to go out without a jacket!
Favourite high street shop and why?
Is it old hat to say Zara? It definitely used to be. And Other Stories is increasingly a favourite, and Mango has really hit its stride recently.

What is your go-to look for dressing up?
High heels, clutch and a statement piece of jewellery. I find the rest sorts itself out when you have those!
And your signature style for casual dressing?
Flats, jeans, linen shirt, blazer and excellent accessories.
What is your fave Scott-Samuel piece?
My stone knot bag! I bought it last year and I used it so much. It was my most asked-about item at the time!
Are you a hoarder or declutterer?
Hoarder… but I’m trying to get better at letting go of clothes…
Best style advice?
Don’t overthink it and don’t be too matchy matchy. If you have to constantly adjust what you’re wearing, don’t wear it. Was it Beau Brummel who said to check your outfit in the mirror once before you go out and then don’t fiddle with it again?
