I’ve worn a Leather Obi belt several times recently which has prompted this. In case you didn’t know an obi belt is a wide sash like belt, in this case a leather belt , that wraps around and ties. It’s one size so depending on your waist size is where it would tie. £38 each.

 

It’s a simple but statement belt that instantly elevates blazers, trench coats, gilets, shirts, dresses. It cinches you in at the waist so perfect fit creating a waist as if you’re wearing over a jacket or shirt the fabric will stick out below it. I’ll let you into a secret hack, it’s also great for reducing the length on dresses that are too long! So I did this for a wedding. My dress was so long it trailed onto the floor but with a frill at the hem it wasn’t so easy to reduce the length. So I wore it with an obi belt and pulled the fabric up above it and enabled me to wear it comfortably! And it looked great too! 

It works all year round and really makes a simple dress or top into a statement piece.
