Trench coats. Effortlessly chic. Whether ‘on trend’ or not we are always here for the trench coat. Along with the leather biker the trench is something that never goes out of fashion, will never fail you and will always look great. Trenches also signal warmer weather and I am here for that... although I am layering mine up to wear now.

Yes, there will be updates, different colours and yes there will be new on trend versions but the humble trench coat in a neutral colourway is an absolute favourite and a staple that we love. Here are some of my faves from my Trench Styling Pinterest board.

One of my favourite things about it is you can wear just about anything underneath and still look like you’ve made an effort. Throw on your old tracksuit, cover it with your trench and voila you are good to go! Add some big sunglasses and you’re hiding everything (whether you have been up partying or feeding the baby) and you've nailed off duty chic. Bad hair day? Add a cap.

Styling your trench is easy and can be done in many different ways as they look great with everything from trainers to loafers, boots or heels.

I love them with a smaller scarf or no scarf rather than something too big but that is just personal preference. They also look great belted with a leather belt or obi style belt.

Bag wise… anything goes whether it is a bigger shopper style, a more structured bag, a bucket bag or even a bumbag.

I absolutely love this Cos beauty (left) £150, Marks and Spencers have a few options but I am a fan of this khaki one at £69 (it even has a removable hood and is waterproof!) showng as out of stock but they are getting more in by the looks of it and it is also available in a lighter colour too. On the right is H&M, (£39.99) again showing OOS but looks like more is coming. There are loads of options out there though. You may fall down a trench shaped hole looking... sorry!
