Pimp my shirt

Pimp my shirt

I shared this on Instagram recently and got lots of love so I thought I would share it here in case it inspires you.

This checked shirt is actually a men's shirt (£1 from a charity shop, I kid you not!) but this would work with any shirt, not necessarily checked but I love the way it elevates what is usually a v casual shirt.

1) Shoulder pads - I added shoulder pads to change the shape and structure. I do love a shoulder pad and these are fab silicone ones that stick to your body.  These were from Amazon. Shop here.

2) Pearl Brooch Pins . using two of my pearl brooch pins from Scott-Samuel, I cinched in the shirt to create a waist.  You can easily do this to any shirt or knitwear to create a different shape.

3) Ribbons. I tied satin ribbons through the button holes. This would work as a single ribbon but I do love a bow so added three. This also looks great on a denim shirt or a plain white shirt. I also love ribbons tied as bows on buttonholes on my cardigans. Velvet is also fab for this. I have had this ribbon for ages but you can grab similar on Amazon.

4) Statement Cuffs / Bangles - I added statement cuffs over my shirt cuffs. The Gold Cuff is £15 and the Statement Jewelled Cuff is £20.

Let me know if you try pimping your shirt and how you get on?
