Forgive me in advance for being a bit fan girly but when THE Polly Vernon (ex Observer magazine editor, contributor to Vogue, Grazia, The Times & Sunday Times among many other others writes about Scott-Samuel in her substack I am going to have to SHOUT about it! 

A few weeks ago, I popped out and when I came back 1/2 an hour later I had had 6 orders for woven leather baskets... all new customers. I asked one of them how they had discovered me / Scott-Samuel (I say me, as there is only me, I am a one woman band) anyway I digress, and she said that Polly Vernon had written about me in her Substack after buying one of my bags. Shut the front door!!!!

"Which bag?" I hear you all cry. Well it was the Large Woven Leather Basket in Dark brown if you really want to know and spoiler alert she now has also had another as a thank you!

So what did she say? I know that's what you really want to know... Well she had been debating buying a £400 DD woven leather basket and then she bumped into a friend of mine (Faith you superstar!) at an event who had a Scott-Samuel basket and she asked her where it was from. Of course, it was a fraction of the price. 

"I thought about it and thought about it, because you can have that thing can't you, where you get the dupe and it is never quite what you had hoped, somehow, because you know it's a dupe? In the end though I went for it AND I AM SO GLAD I DID . It is  beautiful bag, really exquisite, it's very useful, easy to carry, goes with everything, but crucially, here's what I now understand re the dupe-ness factor in this particular instance:

These bags are meant to look like vintage-y pieces you piocked up at a French market. They are not supposed to look or even be designer. The fact that it is not Dragon Diffusion, to me, actually makes it better. It's a Find."
