Spring Summer Belt Inspo

Spring Summer Belt Inspo

This was going to be one post on how I’m accessorising this spring summer but then I realised how enormous it would be do I thought I’d concentrate on one category at a time!!

First up are belts…  I love belts all year round but particularly love the difference a great belt can make to a dress whether you’re cinching in about a loose dress or switching a fabric belt out for a leather belt. I never wear the fabric belts that come on dresses. It always looks better with a different belt. Try it!! I promise you’ll love.

Knot belts - I love the leather knot belts for spring summer, my go to is the cognac/tan. It looks so good over a floaty dress. A black dress looks great with the black leather knot belt too but tan is always my fave for summer. I’ve shared pictures of the knot belts with trousers as well as dresses. Some influencer and celeb shares…  BBC’s @nickychappers wears hers both with a gorgeous floral dress and with her jeans (I love the horse pic from Escape to the Country!) @simoneoaks @fashionandstyleedit me (!) and then @instyle_helen

The studded knot belts also look fab on a summer dress too. Metallics look great for dressing up/ occasion wear. Also worth mentioning that these belts look great with trousers and shorts too ( as pictured above)  I love them over an oversized shirt as well.

Skinny vegan leather belts-  the vegan leather skinny tie belt is my new favourite. I’ve been adding this belt to so many different outfits lately. I love it over a dress, a jacket, a longer line waistcoat or gilet…
It comes in dark brown, black or beige… here’s the dark brown over my denim kimono jacket.
And with a dress…
Two belts …What about trying to belt the skinny tie belt looks great with this and the new studded leather belt. (Coming soon) Or any other slim belt works for this.

I also love the belts whether over address a top over a shirt or on jeans or linen trousers.

Leather Obi belts - nothing cinches the waist quite like an obi belt. I absolutely love these for dressing up… they look fab with occasion wear. So many colours. You can match with your accessories. Go tonal with your dress / outfit or go for a pop of bright! The metallics are also fab for dresssing up. Trinny has one of these in her wardrobe!!

Woven Leather - I love the dark brown wide woven leather belt. I wore it today with jeans and a top. Also looks fab with shirts of linen trousers, as well as over a dress!

Have you thought about using your scarf? Is a belt? I love this trend. It looks great over a simple dress or a white shirt or t shirt , tied at the side. Satin scarves are great for this..
