It is party season and so after wearing my Sequin Fringed poncho last night for a night out I thought I would share some Sequin cape and poncho inspo. These littles capes and ponchos never fail to delight and always bring compliments. They are so easy to throw on over something else so you needn't worry about being cold. You can pop one on on Christmas day to add a bit of sparkle. Wear over a blazer or jacket, wear with jeans, with a full on ball gown, slip dress, fancy skirt or trousers... you get the message. They go with lots. Oh and a great way to add a new life to your old fave little black dress!! As seen on the lovely @carolembeauty below.
So this is what I wore last night (below). The black sequin poncho layered over a thin sparkly top and with striped satin trousers and heels. This also worked well over a plain jersey polo neck. The pocho worked really well to cover my bloating too, which was a bonus!
If you are in the jeans and a nice top club, and lets face it there is always a jeans and a nice top occasion over Christmas, then these make a very nice top! This is a great one if you have last minute plans or need to dress something up for part of the day. I love the burgundy sequin cape and think this looks great with black. Styled here with a maxi skirt and polo neck. This would also be great with wide leg satin trousers or over a jumper dress.
I love the capes over a blazer. It makes it look like real statement jacket. I also do this in the summer and layer them over a khaki jacket for festivals!

Over a knitted dress. There was a fab picture which I can't seem to find on my phone of a sequin cape styled over a midi jumper dress which is think is a really lovely and cosy outfit and def a Christmas contender for me for a day when I want to feel dressed up but also warm and cosy. I might recreate this with my grey jumper dress and burgundy cape. Watch this space!
The Gold Cape is definitely giving 'party' and Alice looks fab in hers @alice_inthe_looking_glass. Gold is always a fave for me but there is also a silver option, if you are more of a silver fan. Both look great over silk vests or long sleeved top. Here paired with velvet trousers and a black silk top.
The outfit below was tailored tweed trousers, a black polo neck and the black fringed sequin poncho over the top which I really loved for a bit of high / low dressing.
Winter whites (or cream!) the cream sequin cape looks great over an all cream outfit or cream top, as seen on Coral @stripeycoral below.
I loved my cream cape with leopard print.. Below I styled it over a leopard slip dress and my friend Clare wore the black and gold cape over a simple black dress. Fab all year round!
