I thought I would do a blog post on this as I now have two pairs of Adidas track pants which I love and have seen a lot of of them around lately styled fabulously on Instagram so I thought I would share some of those pics and other ideas for styling them. These ideas will also work with any wide leg track pants doesn’t have to be Adidas!
Adidas Firebirds do come up quite long so if you’re a shorty, I’m five 4 1/2, you may need to either roll the waist or take them up. Taking them up can be tricky because of the zip of the side, but I do know somebody who has had the zip entirely removed and I’m taking up that way. I tried hemming tape on mine and failed and I have put a couple of of stitches in the corner. It is worth noting that the smaller sizes come up quite a lot shorter.
Which Jacket to wear with Adidas firebirds?
Style with a blazer for a cool look. This works with trainers or pointed flats / heels for a daytime or evening look. I like an oversized blazer. Looks great over a t shirt or plain top with a half tuck. a balaclava worn down as an hood also looks good with this. Effortless!
With a smart wool coat. Similarly to the blazer look, I love this for the mix of smart casual. It gives a bit of edge. Again you can go either way with your footwear to dress up or down, depending on your mood or where you are going!
With a faux fur. I really like this combo (shorter styles work best) and judging from the feedback on insta when I styled mine like this, so do you! a very cosy outfit that looks like you’ve made the effort. Fur coats are not just for nights out! Wear them all AW and get your wear from them!
Trench. A trench looks really cool with firebirds. Layer up for now until it’s warmer. I love this with trainers. Again a visible hood / balaclava looks cool but this also looks great with a neckerchief.
Oversized black leather biker (or any biker!) I love an oversized biker styled with firebirds for a casual look. I think ultimately this shows that so many jacket styles will work with your track pants.
Suede jacket This is one of those that shouldn't work but really does and these are my fave combinations. The cut of my suede jacket definitely feels a bit vintage, a bit boho and therefore isn't an obvious style to pair with these but I styled it with an oversized denim shirt underneath, a silk leopard scarf round my neck and my leopard pointed flats and it works.

Which Shoes to wear with Adidas firebirds?
Trainers / pointed flats / heels / loafers / sheepskin boots as we head into spring / summer Birkenstock clogs and sliders look great. Again think out of the box and that means not just going with trainers because it’s what you think should go with tracksuit bottoms. A pointed toe looks great… whether a boot, heel or flat. My sheepskin boots have been my preference over the winter months but as we head into spring it’ll be trainers, pointed flats and maybe even loafers. I love my leopard flats styled with my firebirds.
Which bag to wear with Adidas firebirds?
This really depends on the look you’re going for and how you want the rest of your outfit to look and feel. Personally, I love a slightly smarter bag with this look. The minimal leather bag or the geo leather grab handle both look great. The Oil Waxed Leather bag, the Classic leather bag.
Bumbags. I do love a leather bumbag and all of the bumbags, regular, large or XL look good with these, whichever is your preference. The bumbag over a blazer is a nice mix.

Which top to wear with Adidas firebirds?
An oversized jumper works well. I like to layer over a lighter t shirt and have it visible at the neck or alternatively add a neckerchief for a bit of interest. I am a half or french tucker!
I love the contrast of a smart white shirt with track pants. A blazer or trench with trainers or pointed flats is a nice way to complete this look.
T shirt - an oversized T shirt and a blazer are always a winner. Dress up or down, style your way. Add accessories or keep it simple!
Denim shirt. An oversized denim shirt looks great and is a good way to layer (over a t shrt). Again I like a half tuck. Adding a chunky gold necklace or neckerchief and rolling up the sleeves is my preference.
A Pretty blouse - this is one that shouldn't work but really does and there are lots of options. I do like a pretty white or light coloured blouse if your side stripe is lighter in colour.
Statement top ( puff shoulders or sequins) I love a big or puff shoulder, a ruffle or pussy bow and details like this look great styled with Firebirds for bit of high low dressing.
Add a gilet and even a belt if you wanna go to town on your accessories. Again have a look at what you have and try stuff on, mix it up and see how it feels. I get some of my best outfits by playing around with what is in my wardrobe and trying things on together.
