Styling the Oversized Cross Body Quilted Bags

Styling the Oversized Cross Body Quilted Bags

You guys are loving the Oversized Cross Body quilted bags. Whether you are here for  pop of colour, want to go all out colour or black these bags add a bit of an oversized edge to your Autumn look. I thought I would share some of my styling ideas for these bags.

I love the idea of a plain ish outfit and letting the bag do the talking for the brighter colours... I also love the idea of mixing textures and of mixing tailoring with sports casual, so an oversized blazer with a quilted bag.

A Denim boilersuit or denim jumpsuit looks great with a pop of colour from the oversized bag, I also really love adding a pop of colour from your socks,  Denim Boilersuit pictured is the Rachel @ (Eleven Loves) also love the Lorna @ Seventy and Mochi (short sleeved version pictured above) and these gorgeous Autumn toned trainers are Hug Lifestyle and look fab with this look too. Although if you are adding bright socks )and we have loads of options here, you may want a neutral trainer or chunky boot. Coat wise you can play this anyway you wish, the beauty of a denim jumpsuit is that it's effectively a blank canvas. How about this Oversized brown bomber (M&S) It also works with an oversized blazer, a leather biker jacket, an oversized wool coat. I would avoid my quilted jacket with it, because of the quilted bag but that is just personal preference. Although I have seen double quilting look fab on other people! A bright colour block scarf looks great with this.

Next up quilted bag with metallics... This one works with any of the colours or the black bag. I love metallics dressed down and think the quilted cross body bag works so well with this look.  Although it also works to dress down a more dressy look with boots (the silver chelsea boots pictured are Esska) or heels. The coated silver jeans (pictured top right) are from Lindex. Oh and also a sequinned wide leg pair from M&S too.  The tapered hemmed metallic trousers (bottom right) are Reiss and I loved that these were a bit different to anything else I had seen. I love both a simple grey knit (preferably oversized) with a metallic trouser and a monochrome stripe. Seen both of these looks on Insta and Pinterest and they look great. This grey knit is Zara but chances are you have one in your wardobe and if not grey is everywhere at the moment. I nabbed a great one last year from my others half (oversized and I think Zara men) so if you are shopping preloved, do consider mens too. I also love this look with a black and white striped jumper. This one is from Disko Kids. I also love a grey wool bomber styled with this look.

Quilted Oversized Bag with Tailoring. Lastly I thought I would share some inspo on tailoring. Now I don't necessarily mean a full on suit, although I do love the idea of a suit dressed down with trainers and an oversized quilted bag. This suit pictured above right is  actully a blazer and trousers from M&S. But I love the mix of smart casual, whether it's a classic trench thrown over jeans and trainers or boots, or an oversized blazer worn with something more casual underneath and I think the proportions, the texture and the fabric of the Oversized Crossbody, makes this  great look.  Above are a couple of ways I styled my bag recently (the black) with an oversized blazer (vintage from EBay), striped knit Lowie , jeans and trainers. The second is with dungarees, a leopard blouse (FWP by Rae)  and a trench (also dressed down with my Hug Lifestyle trainers). Trench coats are everywhere this season and so easy to throw on over anything. Lots of preloved options available should you wish (mine is).  A classic wool coat or blazer also works with this look. Again the type of coat you can throw over something more casual and easily feel like you have made an effort! My kind of style. I will definitely be wearing this with my oversized balaclava hood this A/W. This trench is Albaray at M&S. The woven leather belts are new in at Scott-Samuel.

I would love to see how you are styling your bags. Please tag me in your pictures!
