Wide leg joggers have been around for a few years and are showing no signs of going anywhere so I thought I would write a blog post on how I am styling them. I first got a pair from Marks & Spencer‘s a couple of years ago (they still do then avd there’s loads in vinted) and this year I’ve bought my first pair of Adidas Firebirds which I love. The M&S pair are really quite thick and they are quite smart as joggers go but they do they are made of jersey material and they do have a side stripe. They are extremely comfy so a great way of looking like you made an effort when really You feel like you’re still in your pyjamas . This is a win for me! The first year I bought them I didn’t actually wear them very much. I couldn’t quite get my head around what went with them or if I liked them that much however last year I wore them loads and he’s how I wore them..
They look great with slimmer tops so if you’re gonna wear a T-shirt, I find I quite like to do a half tuck or full tuck or wear slimmer fine knit over the top. I don’t tend to go with volume on the top if I’ve got volume on the bottom.
I actually quite like how they look with a pretty top though, they look nice with a shirt or white shirt, worn them with a white Broiderie anglaise blouse. Jacket wise I love them with an oversized blazer. They also look great with a leather jacket / biker jacket and I like a trench too. They work with a bomber too.
On my feet I tend to go with sneaker style trainers rather than running style trainers but that’s just my personal preference. I’ve seen people look great with them styled with flat shoes and this is something I’ll try with my pointed flats. I’ve seen others do it with chunky loafers.
Bag wise, so I either go one of two ways … a smart ‘ladylike’ bag for example the minimal leather bag , the Geometric Leather Bag (which I like to wear crossbody) or a leather bumbag looks great, particularly over a blazer. I feel like it dresses it down and I like that. Any size regular or large are my go-to’s but the XL bumbag works equally as well if that’s your preference.
Add a balaclava once the weather changes or a leather peaked cap for now if you like.
