Two bags styling

Two bags styling

I thought I would do a little post on styling two bags. I first posted my two bag outfit on Instagram and there was so much feedback from you guys obviously it’s not just me. It is a thing. With that in mind I’ve been sourcing some fab new second bags and thought I’d share my thoughts and go-to combos for two bag styling….

Often if I’m out for the day or if I’m heading into London, I will take two bags rather than one. For those times I need to carry a little bit extra or the weather might be bad, so I take an umbrella. I need a bottle of water. Possibly a snack. I will always have a second bag.
Why not take a larger bag I hear you say? Or maybe you’re not saying as you’re with me on this one. Well, lots of my favourite bags are smaller bags, they give me the option to carry Crossbody, which is practical on a day out and about. I like having a smaller bag. Right there in front of me. Ain't no one gonna get my bag that's for sure.

I wouldn’t want to put a bottle of water and an umbrella that might be wet into any of my leather bags so a second bag that I like but don’t need to look after as well is ideal for this.  Also second bag is in my shoulder, I don’t have to think about as much.

Often my main handbag is a neutral it’ll be a brown, tan or taupe. The second bag will depend on the look that I’m going for, whether I go neutral or go bright.

Going neutral I will often take a knitted striped bag in camel and black. This is a perfect second bag. Stretchy , and the perfect size for a few extra bits that won’t fit in my handbag. I love that it’s to do with a lot of my outfits and handbags but I also love that it can colour and texture to my outfit. If I want a little pop of colour I might opt for the Cherry bag in black but with bright red heart cherries. Again adding some texture and colour. I love this bag (pictured above)
If I want to add a little bit more colour I might go for the checkboard or striped knitted shopper in pink and red or in lilac and lemon. These are also great in on holidays and I should say they pack really flat as well.

Silver shopper / tote. This is a new one. It folds into itself and can hold loads. It literally fitted the tiger print coat I’m wearing in this pic inside last week! Perfect for hols too. Love the pop of silver.

Bamboo handled hessian tote. I love this bag. It packs flat. Is a gorgeous shopper and the handles are really chic. I take this on holidays but use it all year round when I need to carry more stuff, it’s surprisingly roomy and neutral so goes with everything!

Raffia Bag  this is a great second bag too, in black, orange or brown, def has a Spring Summer feel!

Leather weekend bag. I needed a lot more for a shoot in London so took the leather weekend bag as my second bag alongside the fringed leather bag (worn crossbody) . This would actually make a lovely work bag or gym bag if you carry a lot. It comes in tan or black. I went with my black one.

Crossbody bags featured in this post are.... The Leather Fringed Bag (one of my absolute faves and so versatile). Leather bumbags (great all rounder, every day bag and perfect for travel). The Oil Waxed Leather bag, The Leather Geometric Grab handle bag and the Large Minimal bag.
Are you a two bag fan too? xx
