Alternatives to Christmas jumpers

Alternatives to Christmas jumpers

I’ll let you into a secret. I’m really not a fan of Christmas jumpers. Sequins, sparkle and fairisle I can get on board with but ‘Christmas jumpers’ are not for me. So this is the knitwear I’ll be wearing instead to make my jumpers a bit fancier… and do you know what, it doesn’t have to be December to wear these!!

Satin bow scarf- I love a bow scarf as a pussy bow. This can be worn with or without a shirt collar but with a collar looks fab and under a knit is great too (with the bow poking out). Shown here without the jumper but I will let you imagine how good that is! £10

Brooches - I’ve been long term brooch lover and not only are they having a mini moment but they’re gonna be much bigger next year (you heard it here first!) here’s how I styled mine layered up on an oversized knit. It adds a bit of excitement to your jumper! Camellia wool brooch, red Cherry brooch, Cameo brooch and pearl heart brooch.

I also love the idea as brooches as buttons on cardigans and you could really go to town on this and use lots of different brooches. The bows below would also work well on a cardigan down the front. in one colour or different colours!

Velvet or tartan bows -  these can be added as a single or layered up for a different look. These are now reduced to £8. They look great on a contrasting colour knit.

My fave are the tartan ones. They look so fab on a plain jumper. IN the sale now at £8!!

Tulle collar - I love my tulle collar. I think it is so cute on a plain jumper. It really makes such a difference. I like mine on my oversized grey jumper but it also looks fab on my fairisle cardigan too. £15

Camellia bow brooch - The camellia bow brooch looks great at the neck of a shirt but also on a knit. Perfect alternative Christmas jumper.

Sequin cape or poncho over a knit - adding some sparkle and the best bit is you can add this last minute, so if you are cooking or hosting and running around doing stuff you can last min throw on the cape and fa la la you are ready to sparkle!

A chunky knit and statement crystal earrings. I love this for laid back chic or high low, whatever you want to call it. It says low key and luxe all in one and I am here for that.

This also works well with a statement necklace.  The burgundy chunky link looks fab if you are not keen on something sparkly.

Fairisle knits - I love and I have a couple of gorgeous wool ones, one cardigan and one jumper. I love this one styled with my Pink Velvet bow brooch.
