Spring Jackets - part 1

Spring Jackets - part 1

I love, love, love Spring jackets! There are soooo many options. A lot of these I’ve actually been wearing for years so chances are you have something in your wardrobe already. Bonus!
Quilted - quilted jackets have been around for a few years now and showing no signs of going anywhere. I have a green quilted jacket from Lindex which I wore loads last year and they have similar this year. There are loads on the high street too. I wear mine for a casual look over jeans, a boilersuit or casual trousers and trainers. I think a leather Bumbag or leather sling bag works really well with this look. I love my dusky pink or cream Bumbag against the green of my quilted jacket.  The green Dorothy Perkins one is a steal at £25.  The orange is this years version from Lindex, although they also do a dark khaki one too at only £35.99. The Lilac jacket ith smaller quilting is Uniqlo, and this comes in lots of colours.
Printed cotton quilted jackets are still around in a big way too.  I’ve seen gorgeous patterned ones at Raf & Grace £89 (also in beautiful gilets!) and cropped and checked at LOWIE. This one from Albaray is down to £60. This La Redoute pretty brown floral quilted jacket down to £46. I love this simple denim chambray one at Fat Face (down to £38). Depending on the print and style of your jacket you can go boho and pair with cowboy boots and a tan leather bag (fringed square bag, saddle bag and vintage stud bag pictured) or keep it simple with jeans or a denim skirt and trainers and a Bumbag. I’ve seen the bright  Aztec R&G one paired with silver trousers and that looked great.
Khaki jackets - I love a khaki jacket. I have a shacket that I bought years ago at the airport in Italy and still wear loads but have acquired an update this year as a result of raiding my partners wardrobe ( it’s a men’s Zara linen version). There are loads of khaki jackets on the high street this year. Also have a look at Eleven Loves (coming soon), London Glamour Garden. I loved this cropped one from Oliver Bonas (reduced to £25) but cropped isn't for everyone. Don’t be afraid to check out vinted and eBay too and look at the men’s section too if you want an oversized look. Vintage army jackets look great too. Think of them like denim old and battered adds a bit of character.  Try this- I love the pearl heart brooch on my khaki jacket. I also love that layered up with a denim shirt and a long sleeve top i can wear this style now even though it’s still a bit chilly. I love the idea of a few embelishments, whether brooches or a patch, to make them a bit different.
I love khaki jackets with everything from pretty summer dresses to denim Shorts. Bag wise there are no rules. They look great with everything dress up or down. They look fab with leather bumbags, with suede fringed bags. I love my khaki jacket with this studded clutch too. Sunglasses pictured oversized retro aviators and Oversized Square sunglasses. If you’re wearing something plain, a satin neck scarf looks great with this. Also featured Hush and Superdry and t shirt from Disko Kids. Checkerboard shopper, bumbags and sunglasses all Scott-Samuel.
Trench - I also love a trench (are you sensing a theme here?!)  I always feel a bit more together in a trench, whatever I’m wearing underneath and equally I love them with jeans and trainers or something smarter.  Bag wise... you can go either way, smarter or more casual. I often wear my leather bumbag with my trench. I also love it with tan leather (a bucket bag or the vintage stud also work well). The new striped stretchy shoppers look fab against the backdrop of a camel trench! There are loads of trench coats about. Camel is the obvious choice. I also have an oversized green one (old H&M) that I love. There are hooded trenches, I have spotted lots more colours around (navy, black, khaki) cropped trenches... This oversized one is Jigsaw, Khaki hooded is M&S and the belted one Uniqlo. I bought an M&S hooded trench from Vinted for £10. As trenches have been around for some time, it is definitey worth a search if you are open to something pre loved.
Bomber jackets - I managed to find some great bomber jackets on vinted but again these are all over the high street. There’s loads of inspo on Pinterest. Size up if you want an oversized look but there are lots of smaller and even cropped ones around, so anything goes. I have one plain brown and one with different colours that has a more retro baseball look. I’ve been styling with a denim skirt, leather trousers, jeans. These are really versatile and I also love an oversized bomber over a dress. I’d tend to choose a leather Bumbag for this look. A large leather Bumbag or XL leather Bumbag looks great with an oversized bomber. I’d go for my wayfarers or cat eye wayfarers with this look. Fave bombers jackets at ..... Zara, M&S ,H&M.
